Below is a compiled list of fellowships CMSE graduate students submitted!

AIDMM-NRT @ MSU:

Our department leads the AI and data enabled multiscale modeling national research traineeship! Check out our department website and the NRT website for more information.

MSU Internal Fellowships:

NSF GRFP (National Science Foundation, Graduate Research Fellowship Program)

Now limited to first year graduate students. Offers 3 years of funding ($37,000 + tuition/fees) over 5 years, with very few strings attached. The big takeaway here is that they fund YOU not the science you do (but you do have to motivate the science). For this reason, it is very competitive... https://www.nsf.gov/funding/opportunities/grfp-nsf-graduate-research-fellowship-program

NIH Predoctoral Fellowships:

The F31 Predoctoral Individual National Research Service Grant Award awards graduate students their funding and tuition during graduate school. Past summer workshops were hosted by Dr. Ginna Leinninger at MSU and were extremely helpful for writing each section of the application. Check out the funding announcements on the NIH website for due dates and deadlines.

Krell Institute DOE CSGF (Department of Energy, Computational Science Graduate Fellowship, funded by the Krell Institute)

Offers up to 4 years of funding ($45,000 + tuition/fees) over 4 years, with some strings attached. Good for CMSE people, and less competitive than NSF GRFP, but still very sought after. https://www.krellinst.org/csgf/

Krell Institute NNSA SSGF (National Nuclear Security Administration Stewardship Science Graduate Fellowship)

Largely limited to US Citizens studying nuclear/plasma physics. Less competitive, but comes with strings. Offers up to 4 years of funding ($45,000 + tuition/fees). https://www.krellinst.org/ssgf/

Krell Institute NNSA LRGF (National Nuclear Security Administration Laboratory Residency Graduate Fellowship)

Largely limited to US Citizens willing to work for 12 weeks at one of the following NNSA labs: Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Los Alamos National Laboratory, Sandia National Laboratories or the Nevada National Security Site. Not strictly related to stockpile stewardship like the SSGF, but still more limited than CSGF and GRFP. https://www.krellinst.org/lrgf/

Michigan King Chavez Parks Future Faculty Fellowship (FFF) Program

One year of funding ($35,000), with semi-strict limitations on eligibility (see here https://app.leo.state.mi.us/KCPFFF/DocumentationPublic/KCP FFF Eligibility Requirements.pdf).
