Updates & Upcoming Events: Zenas Huang’s Comprehensive Exam - “Decision Geometry: A Framework for Geometric Uncertainty Quantification, Error Detection, and Failure Diagnosis in Deep Learning Medical Image Classifiers” is on Tuesday, April 21st, at 1 pm! 💡GSO: Community Projects! We selected three community projects for the spring semester. The effort and initiative of the students volunteering to take on these projects is greatly appreciated! Professional Development (PD) Book Club: Trying to effectively balance the speed of completing your PhD, as well as being marketable in the workforce after defending? The PD Book Club has FREE reading options to mitigate these concerns: Writing Your Dissertation in Fifteen Minutes a Day: A Guide to Starting, Revising, and Finishing Your Doctoral Thesis by Joan Bolker has been chosen for this semester! Join the #pd_book-club channel on Slack and reach out to Cole Stewart ([email protected]) to read about these important strategies with your fellow students! Graduate Student Wellness Center: Graduate school can be financially stressful, and often, a small gesture can make a big difference. The wellness center is a space for everyone to use, share, and support one another as part of our community. If you want or need personal hygiene or household items, you are welcome to take whatever you want, at no cost. In addition, you can contribute to the wellness center by donating items that you can, making this a community project in helping each other. 📊Budgeting Spreadsheets! Two very customizable spreadsheets to track your spending. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Brynn Roy. Individual Person Spreadsheet - Best for one person tracking their spending. Two Person Spreadsheet - Best for partners or roommates who share the bulk of costs (groceries, rent, etc), but not necessarily everything.

✨Wellness Resources Table: Check out our new Wellness Resources Table in 1515 near the Hot Desks! If you are in need of personal hygiene or household items, take what you need! Here is a master document to direct you to a variety of resources available to you, including fitness classes, mental health resources, and much more.

🔔Slack: Join the CMSE Slack to communicate with the rest of the graduate students. Participation here leads to participation everywhere, so join here!

🍔Trivia: Every week, CMSE graduate students play team trivia hosted at Crunchy's Bar and Grill. Join the CMSE team "Trivial Proofs" to enjoy some socializing and trivia fun. There are two one hour games starting at 7:30PM on Tuesdays. Join the Slack channel "trivial_proofs" in the CMSE Grads workspace to get a seat for this week’s game!

📚Library: Do you need to find a book, but don’t want to buy it? Odds are, we have some in the CMSE library already! Check out this list of books that are already in the hands of CMSE graduate students. If we don’t have a copy, we might be able to buy a copy for the graduate space!
